We have so much to celebrate at Companis as we mark 30 years of community service. We’ve placed more than 1400 placements with 237 nonprofits over three decades, strengthening the safety net that delivers vital services to our neighbors.
And now we have even more to celebrate: the past year marks the greatest number of volunteer placements AND nonprofit partners in any 12-month period in our history!
From September 1, 2023 through August 31, 2024, Companis partnered with 66 King and Snohomish County nonprofits to make 96 placements of skilled volunteer- and stipend-supported professionals.
These are primarily one-year commitments. And we are so grateful to the 75 individual Companis Workers in these roles, including some
who have two – or even three – assignments over the past year. This exciting achievement is no accident.
The Companis Board and staff embarked on an ambitious program to expand our reach as the pandemic began, anticipating the need. We hired additional staff to reach more people and more nonprofits. As the pandemic continued, Companis expanded our work into Snohomish County,
while growing relationships with nonprofits in King County serving our Black and Brown neighbors in both counties.
The result? More people than ever are serving today through Companis and directly touching thousands of lives.
This is possible because of our supporters, as almost half (49%) of our annual income comes from individual donors. We thank our donors, our nonprofit partners and especially the caring and dynamic volunteers who serve as Companis Workers in long-term placements. They are – and we are, together – where compassion meets action!
