If you missed our live stream on October 21st, we bring you the Companis Biennial ’21, “Where Compassion Meets Action,” in its entirety here! Click on this link to watch!
We thank Dr. Ben Danielson, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, for sharing his vision of what cherishing our Black children looks like and feels like, and how each of us, no matter who we are, can make a difference for our children of color today. Dr. Danielson is the former longtime director of the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic in Seattle. He talks with Val Thomas-Matson, the founder and executive producer of the nonprofit Look, Listen and Learn, a research based educational TV program for BIPOC children and their families. LL&L is a Companis partner agency.
Our program also features Companis Workers Mary Zwerling, David Johnson and Zheng Zhou, in placements with ChildStrive in Everett, Pushing Boundaries in Redmond, and Asian Counseling and Referral Service in Seattle. And, you’ll meet the Companis staff whose collective efforts made and supported 151 volunteer placements with 53 area agencies since our last Biennial in November 2019.
The Companis Biennial is our every-two-year celebration and fundraiser. Thanks to our donors and our Biennial ’21 Ambassadors, we surpassed our overall goal of $140,000 raised. Individual donations account for 55% of our annual income in 2021. We welcome your donation today at the Biennial ’21 link on our homepage.
